TruckCamperFinder is built on community feedback. This month we shipped a batch of updates based directly on what users told us was missing — and there's more coming. Here's what changed.
SRW vs DRW: Dually Configurations Now Differentiated
Previously, a Ford F-350 Crew Cab with a 6.75' bed showed up once in our truck selector — even though the single rear wheel (SRW) and dual rear wheel (DRW) versions have very different payload capacities. A DRW F-350 can carry 1,000+ lbs more than its SRW counterpart.
Every truck configuration now shows whether it's SRW or DRW, and the payload numbers reflect the correct spec for each. This affects the F-250, F-350, Ram 2500, Ram 3500, Silverado 2500HD/3500HD, and Sierra 2500HD/3500HD.
32 New Truck Configurations
We added comprehensive cab/bed/drivetrain combinations for every current 3/4-ton and 1-ton truck. Previously, some popular configurations were missing entirely — for example, the F-350 only had a couple of entries. Now every major configuration is represented with accurate payload data:
- Ford F-250 & F-350 — Regular Cab, SuperCab, and Crew Cab in all available bed lengths, SRW and DRW
- Ram 2500 & Ram 3500 — Regular Cab, Crew Cab, and Mega Cab configurations
- Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD & 3500HD — Regular, Double, and Crew Cab
- GMC Sierra 2500HD & 3500HD — Regular, Double, and Crew Cab
F-150 Heavy-Duty Payload Package (HDPP)
The Ford F-150 with the Heavy-Duty Payload Package (option code 627) is a popular choice for camper owners — it pushes payload to roughly 2,500 lbs in a Crew Cab 6.5' bed, turning the F-150 into a legitimate hard-side camper platform. We've added HDPP configurations so these trucks are no longer left out of compatibility results.
Door Sticker Scanner
Your truck's door jamb sticker has the most accurate payload number for your specific vehicle — it accounts for every factory option. Now you can snap a photo of that sticker right from the Find My Camper tool and we'll extract the payload capacity automatically using AI-powered image recognition. Works on mobile — just point your camera at the sticker.
