Dispersed Camping
Free camping on public lands (BLM, National Forest, etc.) outside of designated campgrounds, with no hookups, no fees, and usually no amenities beyond maybe a fire ring. Most dispersed camping areas have a 14-day stay limit. This is where truck campers truly shine — you can access remote sites that trailers and motorhomes can't reach. Apps like iOverlander, FreeRoam, and Campendium help locate dispersed camping areas. Always follow Leave No Trace principles.
